Static Wooden Bench
This rustic garden bench preserves the original shape of the tree
and features a live-edge along both sides. The legs are made from
peeled poles and are angled to add stability on uneven surfaces.
They are crafted from either a white wood like Sitka Spruce or
Western Hemlock, or a red wood such as Douglas Fir or European
Larch. Making a perfect addition to your garden furniture
collection.
This wooden bench is handcrafted by Damien
Devereux who is registered blind, with over 5 years experience as a
carpenter. All wood is sourced from a local sustainable woodland and
is kiln dried making it much more stable and unlikely to warp as it
ages.
These sturdy benches come in three different lengths and are 45cm high and approximately 30cm to 40cm deep. If you'd like to customize these sizes please get in contact. To ensure their durability for outdoor use, the benches are treated with Exterior Oil to bring out the grain and protect the wood, though the bench will need re-coating once a year if you plan to use as permanent outdoor furniture. An optional hardier coating of varnish is also available for added protection and a smoother finish which will not need re-coating unless damaged. They could also be used indoors or in conservatories as a coffee table/console table or a statement plant stand.
The legs also feature a brace along the length of the bench which
adds structural support, and can serve as a carrying handle during
transport. The poles used to make the legs may contain splits from
the drying process but this does not deduct from their strength and
the bark may not always present because it sometimes comes loose
during construction.
