Rustic Wooden Placemats
Bring a farmhouse feel to your meals with these rustic wooden placemats. Cut from Western Hemlock log slices and sanded for a smooth finish, these live edge wood placemats keep the unique shape of the tree from which they were cut, making them stunning for home decor.
They have a variety of uses such as a great base for a table
centerpiece, a wooden tray for condiments, a trivet or even a cake
stand or plant stand. The possibilities are endless! They have also
grown very popular for rustic wedding decor.
These placemats are handcrafted by Damien Devereux who is registered
blind, with over 5 years experience as a carpenter. All wood is
kiln-dried timber, sourced from a local sustainable woodland. Kiln
dry wood is much more stable and unlikely to warp as it ages.
Placemats come in six different diameters and are approximately
25-30mm thick. The diameters offered are only approximations and
will differ depending on the size and shape of the tree. If you
require specific sizes then please get in touch. To ensure their
durability for outdoor use, the placemats can optionally be treated
with Exterior Oil to bring out the grain and protect the wood,
though it will need re-coating once a year.
Splits in the log rings sometimes form during the drying process and
these splits have been filled with a clear resin. The bark is not
always present because it sometimes comes loose during construction.
If you would like the placemat engraved then please specify the
name/message when you order.
